I make this blend using the somewhat tedious Ayurvedic technique of making a Kashayam. This is vegan, made without animal products. The finished product is a beautiful, greenish tinted oil that does not color or stain hair. What can you do with this oil: Hot oil deep conditioning Daily scalp massage Use in daily styling Use on ends to protect against dryness and breakage Specs: translucent green-brown colored oil- it is fractionated so that it stays liquid. Comes in a squeezable plastic bottle with a spout for easy application to the scalp. This oil is on the lightweight/thinner side. How to use: you may use this to condition your scalp and hair, as often as you like. *All bottles contain 4 fluid ounces, so you will get every drop you paid for, but bottles will not be filled to the top. For best results, use daily by massaging into the scalp, lubricating the ends of hair as needed. Even better results can be achieved when using in conjunction with GHE (the greenhouse effect) or the inversion (Power Growth) method. Instructions on how to do these methods will be included with your order*. Just be aware that this and all oils can stain clothing, so it's best to apply the oil before you get dressed or in clothes you don't mind getting stained. You may also choose to put the oil on before bed and wash out in the morning, or leave it in for up to one week. You also may have good results by oiling your hair at night and "baggy-ing" it - meaning you put a plastic bag or shower cap on your hair, and cover that with a scarf. In the morning you can wash your hair and style as normal. HAIR DYE/HAIR COLORING NOTE: for those that color their hair - while I have not noticed any loss of hair coloring while using this product, some people have reported that coconut oil in general causes their hair color to fade, while others report no issues at all. I believe the affect would vary between different brands, types and shades of hair coloring, so I have no way to guarantee that it will not affect your specific color. If you choose to try the product, please try a patch test on a small piece of hair before doing the whole head, or see our sample listing and order a couple of sample of this first to see how it may affect your hair coloring. I make the oil part of this conditioner using the somewhat tedious Ayurvedic technique of making a Kashayam. I use real cow's milk (for the vitamins) and fresh coconut meat from a whole coconut I crack open myself (never pre-shredded or pre-prepared coconut). I add all 10 Ayurvedic herbs imported from India and cook it down until complete. The finished product is a a green tinted clear oil which is blended with purified water and emulsifier to produce this creamy, effective conditioner. How to use: Apply to freshly washed hair, working through hair from roots to ends. Let conditioner on for 2-5 minutes, then rinse out of hair with cool water and style as desired. To Use: You simply shake well, then apply a small amount to your clean, dry fingertips (a little goes a long way, so no need to oversaturate!), and massage it into your scalp with the pads of your fingers for 2-3 minutes, 3-4 times per week. You massage the scalp each day, even when not using oil. After applying oil, you should start to feel some tingling on your scalp within the first 5 minutes. After applying to scalp, you may gently brush hair from scalp to ends of hair to distribute the product evenly throughout your hair. You may also use this as a hot oil treatment before washing out. If you have drier hair (as found in most African types of hair) you may leave this in, but you should wash your hair at least once a week. It is concentrated so a little goes a long way. A 1 ounce bottle should last about 3-4 weeks. You may also use this as a hot oil treatment to help condition your hair, especially your ends, which tend to be the driest part of hair.
