Why a preservative?
A preservative is an absolute MUST in a formula with herbs and water, as herbs are notorious for growing mold in water without a preservative and it would only hold up for about 3 days maximum refrigerated without a preservative. The preservative allows the product to be shelf stable so that you may safely use your product.

Specs:
Look: The substance is a translucent, milky white or off-white color (it may darken slightly over time). The Regular Unscented (not pictured here) will be a lot clearer, less milky looking and very translucent.
Scent: (Regular) The smell is slightly sour and characteristic of fermented rice, but may also contain a touch of sweetness and be mildly herbal, depending on the formula you choose.
Scent: (Scented) Fragranced Rice water out of the bottle- you will still smell a bit of the “ferment” scent, which will fade over time as it evaporates, leaving behind more of the fragrance. So try not to judge the smell until you have given it time to evaporate a bit. Fragrance will depend upon the one you choose, but generally fragrance/parfum is going to be much stronger/more noticeable than natural fragrance. Natural fragrance compounds used have a bit of a “powdery” after-scent.

I make this blend using the somewhat tedious Ayurvedic technique of making a Kashayam. This is vegan, made without animal products. The finished product is a beautiful, greenish tinted oil that does not color or stain hair. What can you do with this oil: Hot oil deep conditioning Daily scalp massage Use in daily styling Use on ends to protect against dryness and breakage Specs: translucent green-brown colored oil- it is fractionated so that it stays liquid. Comes in a squeezable plastic bottle with a spout for easy application to the scalp. This oil is on the lightweight/thinner side. How to use: you may use this to condition your scalp and hair, as often as you like. *All bottles contain 4 fluid ounces, so you will get every drop you paid for, but bottles will not be filled to the top. For best results, use daily by massaging into the scalp, lubricating the ends of hair as needed. Even better results can be achieved when using in conjunction with GHE (the greenhouse effect) or the inversion (Power Growth) method. Instructions on how to do these methods will be included with your order*. Just be aware that this and all oils can stain clothing, so it's best to apply the oil before you get dressed or in clothes you don't mind getting stained. You may also choose to put the oil on before bed and wash out in the morning, or leave it in for up to one week. I am excited to try this. It came nicely packaged and directions on how to use the product are right on the bottle…which is very convenient! I bought the vanilla cocoa one and it smells so good…not overpowering, but subtle.
Just received on 6/6/20. I haven’t tried it yet. So as soon as I try it and see results, I will post an update.
